About the Owners
Scott and Renee moved to the Northwest early in life, and both properties represent their love of the outdoors and Montana’s spectacular landscapes.
The Swan valley captured Scott’s attention as a young man in his teens, and he spent many seasons hiking, fishing and riding the spectacular landscape. Renee came to the region as a park ranger one summer and quickly called it home.
Time outdoors was precious as they juggled busy careers. Scott managed a successful business in Missoula, and Renee managed marketing and public relations in organizations ranging from universities to financial institutions. The peaceful, beautiful settings of both properties made them irresistible, inevitable choices to get away.
Both will be happy to answer any questions you may have, and can be contacted by phone—text or voice—or via info@mountain-getaways.com.

About the Properties
The Cabin on Piper Creek
The cabin on Piper Creek’s spectacular setting made the decision to purchase it easy. Scott’s children grew up playing in the creek and hiking area trails, and he continued to explore the area’s many mountain lakes and vistas.
The cabin’s beautiful location on the creek and proximity to two wilderness areas and Glacier National Park have made it the perfect getaway for family and friends for over 25 years.
Nighthawk’s Rest
After searching for property throughout Western Montana, Scott and Renee settled on the 200-acre parcel of timber and meadows that is home to Nighthawk’s Rest. Homesteaded in 1908, the property is one of a few remaining family ranches from that era.
The house is named for the nighthawks that frequent the valley, and has offered countless hours of exploring on adjacent public lands. A spring on adjacent US Forest Service lands still provides water to the property and feeds the pond in front of the house.
Both properties offer all-season recreation opportunities, from hiking, fishing, riding, cycling and rock climbing, to snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
